Should we allow pets?

How many people own pets?

In Canada, 77% of households own at least one type of pet. According to Statista, there were 28.05 million pets in Canada, up from 27.93 million in 2020. It is predicted that the number of pets will rise to over 28.5 million by 2025. The most popular pets to own are cats followed by dogs.

So should you allow them?

By embracing tenants with domestic animals, landlords effectively double the number of eligible renters, thereby reducing vacancy periods and streamlining the rental process. This not only saves time but also alleviates the financial strain often experienced during transitional phases between tenant turnovers.

Expert Property Management

But should we allow all pets?  Oh ... no... no we should not.  We will take the time to interview the potential tenants. We will ask to see their current living conditions.  We want to see this animal in it's normal environment.   To maintain the integrity of the program and ensure the well-being of rental properties, all prospective tenants with pets undergo a thorough vetting process. A specialized pet application must be completed, accompanied by relevant documentation.

Pet Deposits

Did you know that we can ask for a non-refundable pet deposit up front? Depending on the situation, we can obtain that for you to protect your property.  We know that not all pets will cause damage. That is why we pool the money together for pet damage.  We then provide you with extra funds in case the damage exceeds $500.

It's your call at the end of the day

If you tell us that there is no way you'd allow a pet, no problem! If you're ok with it, we will handle the rest!
